Jim Walsh - Rare Quarter Sold for $ 5400 US |
|
My son Paul and I decided to try our luck at the "Lost Villages" rally weekend in West Sussex. Paul had a good signal from quite a depth with his Explorer. His first silver Roman coin came from about 12 inches down. Over the next hour Paul and I dug probably another dozen or so silver Roman coins from depths up to 15 inches. There were 89 coins in all, most of which appeared to be from the reign of Hadrian around 120AD. The watching crowd of a hundred or so were overawed at the depth the Explorer II was finding coins.

Tony Hunt - Hoard found with new Explorer XS |

The Explorer has surpassed my expectations with its ability to detect deeper and operate in high trash areas. Every trip holds more surprises and good finds. The Explorer has made coinshooting fun and exciting again and I find myself more addicted to metal detecting now, than ever before. I can't believe all these finds are from 'hunted out' parks, I am looking forward to years of detecting these sites
